Development of the Experiment Platform of the Automobile Steering-by-Wire System

  • The experiment platform of automobile steering-by-wire system, which can optimize the steering ratio and steering feel, is developed in order to satisfy the requirements of emerging engineering education of vehicle engineering. Firstly, the design goal, overall scheme and working principle of the experiment platform are elaborated. Secondly, the road feel simulating module, steering actuation module, steering-by-wire control module, steering resistance simulating module, and human-machine interface design of the experiment platform are designed. Finally, the road feel experiment and steering returning experiment based on the experiment platform are carried out to meet the experimental requirements. The experiment platform can be used for experiment teaching of the automobile electronics control technology, etc. It also helps to improve the students’ engineering consciousness, experimental ability, innovative design ability, and product development ability.
