Research on the Experimental Teaching Model of Building Materials Based on Virtual Simulation Technology

  • Engineering experiment course is an important means to cultivate students’ ability in practicing, analyzing and solving problems. As a new technology, virtual simulation technology is able to meet the requirements of the reform of open-minded running of higher education in the information age due to its good visual effect, strong human-computer interaction and interesting features. By integrating virtual simulation technology into the experimental teaching of building materials course, a virtual simulation experimental teaching model based on “simulation-practice-simulation” is established. Taking the rutting test of asphalt mixture as an example, a relevant virtual simulation system is developed based on an information technology named Unity 3D. The subsequent questionnaire survey suggests that the virtual simulation experiment teaching project plays a critical role in promoting the achievement of the training goal of the experiment teaching of building materials course.
