Abstract
Exploratory experiment is an important way to cultivate innovative talents. The experimental platform for wind turbine blade detection by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is established, which could meet the teaching needs of innovative experiment. This experimental platform takes the 2 MW wind turbine blades as the detected object, and inspects the crack of blade at close range by using a professional camera mounted on the UAV. A comprehensive experimental program is planned based on this experimental platform and open experiment teaching was adopted, including openness of experiment content, openness of experiment time, openness of experiment method and openness of experiment assessment. The students’ hands-on ability in complex environment can be trained and the students’ engineering practice ability can be cultivated through carrying out the innovative experiments.
