Abstract
This paper develops a specific method for experimental teaching reform and designs an experiment using ultra performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry to determine the concentration of sulfamethoxazole in groundwater. During the experiments, the instrument’s construction and principles, technical terms, operation procedures, and data analysis have been introduced. Besides, to successfully quantify the target compounds in the aqueous samples, the effects of the ion acquisition modes, the types of the organic phases, and the voltage in the transmission zone on the determination results have been investigated with self-designed experiments. In addition, some common errors and notices have been introduced to help the students successfully finish the experiments. Therefore, after the experiment courses, students have learned the construction, principles, and operations of the instrument, the primary qualitative and quantitative methods for compounds, and optimization methods of major parameters, and improved their comprehensive ability and innovation skills, laying a solid foundation for the future researches.
