Abstract
This paper introduces a virtual simulation teaching experimental platform based on Unity 3D engine development. The platform is designed for the purpose of aiming at the frontiers of oceanography, improving teaching efficiency, stimulating interest in learning, and training practice ability. It provides a first-person roaming perspective combined with an operation mode of the human-machine dialogue UI. It is equipped with the function modules of submarine topographic and geomorphological survey, marine seismic exploration, marine geochemical exploration and hydrocarbon accumulation elements. The design of such modules enable students can learn to understand the operation of various instruments and equipment related to marine geological survey and hydrocarbon exploration, and obtain a more realistic human-machine interaction experience in the virtual scene. This platform is dedicated to guiding students to master the geological data collection and analysis methods in the field of offshore oil and gas exploration, to clarify the internal relationship between the formation and evolution of marine sedimentary basins and the enrichment of offshore oil and gas, and to reveal the offshore hydrocarbon exploration process. Therefore, we can make full use of the advantages of virtual simulation, which will help to improve the teaching effect and have a distinct practical role in the teaching of oceanography experiments.
