Engineering Education Practice of the “Applied Optics” Course Based on Virtual Simulation Experiment

  • “Applied optics” is a basic course or say specialized basic course of the related specialty of optics. In according with the principle that taking result-oriented education as the main concept of engineering education, we apply virtual simulation experiments to the engineering teaching practice of the “Applied Optics” courses to enhance the visualization of the principles in the course content, to supplement experiments which can’t actually be shown, to intuitively display the internal structure of the optical system which cannot be displayed in reality. On this basis, the practice and training of optical design are carried out by combining with engineering practice cases in scientific research. The results of teaching practice show that the development of virtual simulation experiments is helpful to improve students’ learning interest, cultivate students’ ability to solve complex engineering problems and the ability of innovative thinking.
