Abstract
The interdisciplinary comprehensive design ability is the essential basic accomplishment of engineering students, and also the basic requirement of engineering education certification. Focusing on how to cultivate students’ innovative design ability in the basic mechanics experiment course, a new type of practice teaching case of resistance strain sensor suitable for cultivating students’ ability to solve engineering problems has been developed. In this paper, the basic process, optimization, calibration and case implementation of the structural design of the resistance strain sensor are described in detail. From the actual teaching effect, the case integrates multidisciplinary knowledge such as engineering background, basic mechanics theory and numerical calculation. The implementation process can not only strengthen students’ understanding and comprehensive application of basic mechanics knowledge, but also improve students’ experimental design ability, and cultivate students’ scientific thinking and engineering awareness.
