Abstract
Diffraction, as a classic optical phenomenon, is widely present in practical engineering. It is one of the fundamental teaching focuses and difficulties in university optical engineering programs. This paper utilizes the MATLAB software platform to simulate the diffraction of an annular aperture, observing its diffraction pattern and light field distribution. It investigates the variation patterns of the diffraction results by changing the size of the annular gap. Furthermore, the simulation is extended to study the diffraction characteristics of different apertures, such as rectangular and triangular ones. The results show that MATLAB software has advantages in optical teaching, such as simple operation, unrestricted experimental conditions, and clear visualization of phenomenon, providing a convenient means for computer-aided optical teaching.
