Exploration of Project-based Engineering Practice Teaching Mode Based on Flywheel Energy Storage System

  • In order to meet the demand of different majors for cultivating students' engineering practice abilities, traditional engineering practice courses urgently need to be reformed, and new teaching plans that reflect students' professional characteristics and integrate product design and manufacturing should be explored. The "Manufacturing Practice" course for students majoring in electrical engineering has for the first time chosen the flywheel energy storage system, which is closely related to the profession, as the teaching carrier. It integrates design modeling, processing and manufacturing, assembly and debugging into the teaching process, and adopts project-based learning methods to guide students to participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of the entire project. Through the course, students have not only mastered the knowledge related to flywheel energy storage technology, but also effectively improved their engineering practice ability, innovation ability, and teamwork ability. The implementation process, teaching methods, and achievements of this teaching model provide useful ideas and references for the reform of engineering practice teaching models in other universities.
