Development of a Laser Experimental Platform using Fiber Gratings

  • The cultivation of practical abilities and innovative thinking is a key element of higher engineering education. Designing and developing experimental platforms related to courses not only stimulates learning motivation of students but also deepens their understanding of professional knowledge. This paper presents an experimental platform for ultrafast lasers based on long-period fiber gratings, starting from the preparation of basic components and using them as core devices to construct a soliton mode-locked fiber laser. The platform encompasses various stages, including device design and fabrication, ultrafast laser system construction, and testing and analysis of laser output characteristics. The experimental guides students to progressively master the design, optimization, and analysis of complex optical systems, enhancing their ability to apply professional knowledge and foster innovative thinking.
