The Construction and Application of a Laboratory Biological Waste Disposal Platform for Universities Based on the PDCA Cycle

  • This paper addresses challenges in managing common biological waste within university laboratories. A centralized disposal platform was established based on the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) management cycle. Following the “plan–implementation–monitor–improvement” framework, the platform enables categorized collection, centralized sterilization, digital supervision, and closed-loop processing of waste. A dedicated sterilization site was set up to ensure uniform and harmless treatment. Results show that the platform stabilizes processing volumes, consolidates waste sources, clarifies waste categories, and significantly improves efficiency, while enhancing laboratory safety and environmental conditions. This study innovatively integrates the PDCA model with laboratory waste management, demonstrating strong operability and applicability for common biological laboratories.
