Abstract
According to the requirements of practical teaching reform, preparation of anionic waterborne polyurethane films and study on the effect of process parameters on product performance was designed for undergraduates major in chemical engineering and technology. Particle size and dispersion of the emulsion was tested by Laser Particle Analyzer and structure of the films was characterized by FT-IR. The synthetic route was more environment-friendly and less toxic than traditional solvent-based synthetic route. Experiments were carried out by students in team. Experimental process involves not only the theoretical knowledge of the pre-related courses, but also the advanced analytical techniques, which have important roles in developing students’ ability to apply theory to practice, operational ability and scientific literacy.
