Research Progress on Silicate Bacteria Potassium Releasing

  • Potassium fertilizer relies on import in China which has “rich” and “poor” potassium soil. Silicate bacteria can release potassium and phosphorus to the plants by decomposing Mica, feldspar and other silicate minerals in the soil, so plants can grow better by absorbing potassium, more useful bacteria and higher disease resistance. This paper reviews the potassium releasing effect by silicate bacteria and the optimal culturing conditions of the silicate bacteria, the potassium releasing mechanisms and the silicate bacteria application prospect to direct the future studying.
