Design and Implementation of Electrical Stimulator for Cells

  • The electrical stimulating signal can promote cell migration, proliferation and differentiation, and tissue growth. In the paper, AFG3102, an arbitrary function generator (Tektronix), was used to generate the stimulating signal with arbitrary shape through control software in the computer. This signal can be amplified and then used to stimulate cells directly in the constant voltage mode. The results show that the stimulator can provide stimulating signals with arbitrary waveform in the amplitude ranging from 0 V to 15 V. And the instrument designed and implemented can meet the need of stimulating cells with target waveforms and voltages.
