Research on the Polarization Curves of Iron Electrode in CTAB

  • Carbon steel of polarization curve measurement has important guiding significance for practical application. This experiment adopts the carbon electrode to determine the anode polarization curve by potentiostatic method in the ammonium carbonate solution of CTAB, in order to study the effect of surfactant concentration on the corrosion of carbon steel electrode. The influence of the experimental results shows that the addition of CTAB surfactant for carbon steel electrode has better corrosion effect, can reduce the peak current of polarization curve. While adding a certain concentration of surfactants, the stronger the corrosion inhibition, the smaller the peak current.
