Exploration and Practice of Material Mechanics Teaching Reform

  • To improve the teaching quality of Materials mechanics,promote students’ proficiency of the knowledge and the ability to analyze realistic problems with it,we reform the traditional teaching method in materials mechanics for mechanical engineering students and present some specific measures. These measures applied during teaching procedure include:pay attention to the emergency of mechanical knowledge and relative backgrounds; combine the theory with practice to enhance students’ ability to solve new problems through their knowledge; encourage students to find,analyze and create new things in scientific research program. Research-type teaching pattern is used in our materials mechanics teaching process:combine the research program with theory teaching,emphasize the experimental teaching; reappear the emergency of mechanical knowledge,promote students’ innovation to handle problems their confronting by strength of mechanical knowledge. The teaching practice shows that the reforms can further enhance students’ innovation and the comprehensive quality of using mechanical knowledge flexibly. This reform can benefit Strength of Materials’ teaching quality and offer a reference for cultivating innovative talents.
