Abstract
Based on the characteristics of the experimental course of environmental pedology and the drawbacks of the traditional spoon-feeding way of teaching, the necessity of application of heuristic teaching to this experimental course was discussed. By taking the soil pH measurement experiment as a case study, the construction strategy of heuristic experimental teaching mode, which includes the application and practices of the heuristic teaching in teaching content, process and methods, was proposed. A questionnaire survey was carried out to analyze the effects and problems present in the heuristic teaching practice, which gaining experience and providing a reference for further application of the heuristic teaching in the experimental course of environmental pedology. The practice showed that the application of the heuristic teaching was beneficial to stimulate the students' learning interest and initiative, to improve the students' understanding and mastering of the professional knowledge, and to develop the students' ability of independent exploring.
