Application of Apparent Preconsolidation Stress in the UndergraduateExperiment Teaching of Rock Mechanics

  • A preliminary method for measuring the initial consolidation pressure of mudstone is self-developed,and obtained its initial consolidation pressure data, which fills the gaps in the experiment and teaching of rock mechanics. The applicability and reliability of this device are verified by experiments. It is convenient for the test operation.Based on the previous device,we filled with a lateral compression chamber to ensure that the mudstone is completely limited side by side.Through the experimental analysis,we got the apparent preconsolidation stress of the shale and explored the brittle transition properties. The application of the initial consolidation pressure in the rock mechanics teaching, enrich the experimental teaching content, improve the knowledge framework system, which is the expansion of rock mechanics curriculum content. It is very suitable for the students to practice in the experiment teaching.
