How to Measure the Magnetic Characteristics with Vibrating Sample Magnetometer

  • Based on the hysteresis loop test function of the vibrating sample magnetometer,three types of samples (i.e.CoZr thin film,Fe3O4 powder and SrFe11.6O19 powder) are measured to obtain the hysteresis loop.After adjusting the saddle point of the sample as the prerequisite conditions of accurate measurments,the simplified procedure and the accurate procedure are performed to obtain resulting hysteresis loops.By comparing and analyzing the experimental results,we find that the two procedures based on the resulting hysteresis loops are differnet in actual tests: the hysteresis loop for the simplified procedure can quickly provide the scope of the basic magnetic parameters such as coercive force,remnant magnetization and saturation field,and the hysteresis loop for accurate procedure can provide an accurate reasonable value of magnetic material (coercive force,remnant magnetization,and the saturation field).
