Rapid Preparation and Separation Efficiency of Thin Layer Chromatography Plate

  • Thin layer chromatography is one of the significant experimental techniques for rapid separation and qualitative analysis of small or trace organic compounds.It plays a very important role in the separation of natural products,prediction of column chromatography separation,tracking of organic reactions and experimental teaching of organic chemistry.The thin layer chromatography plate was prepared by dip coating method with carboxymethyl cellulose sodium aqueous solution as adhesive.The effects of binder concentration,adsorbent type,and drying method on the separation effect of TLC plates were investigated.The experiment results shown that a certain amount of column chromatography silica gel was dissolved in 0.4% CMC-Na aqueous solution,the TLC plate not only has good adhesion performance and high separation efficiency,but also greatly shortens the time of making the plate.It provides a fast,convenient and environmentally friendly method for the production of the TLC plates.
