Teaching Innovation and Exploration of Melting Point Experiment

  • Melting point determination is one of the classic organic chemistry experiments, and it is the basic experimental skill that must be mastered in chemisty and related majors. The improved melting point measurement not only inherits the traditional capillary testing method, but also introduces advanced instrument testing technology, making full use of laboratory resources to cultivate students'basic experimental skills, and lays a foundation for subsequent experiments. Adopting exploratory experimental teaching methods, the melting point-molar composition relationship of binary mixture of diphenylamine and maphthalene was studied, which trained students’ basic scientific research ability and broadened their horizons.
