Research on the Integrated Experiment of “Information Theory and Coding” and “Principles of Communications”

  • “Information Theory and Coding” and “Principles of Communications” are two basic major courses of communication and information system. The principle and method explained in these two courses are the foundation when analyzing and designing communication systems. Integrated experiment of these two courses will help students learn and deeply understand the knowledge points and their connection. The rule, the framework and the content of the experiment are investigated. Finally, an example is given to illustrate authors’ idea. A flexible and extensible experiment platform is given to the students. They can verify the principle and function of the communication system module, such as source coder-decoder, channel coder-decoder and signal modulation and demodulation, etc.
