A Design of Laminar Diffusion Flame Experimental System Based on Digital Camera

  • As one of the most fundamental courses in the degree program of energy and power engineering, there are insufficient practical teaching sections in combustion science due to the lack of necessary equipment. Based on the advanced optical diagnostics theory, a laminar diffusion flame experimental system was designed and established by collecting common items such as Bunsen burner, digital camera, etc. With the post-processing MAT LAB code, flame structure, chemical reaction progress, and soot performance could be obtained, which is a good solution for demonstration in class, theory explanation, and independent investigation for students after class. The realization of experimental system not only can reduce the cost, but also can inspire the interest of students in learning and innovative thinking.
