Abstract
At present, there are relatively few observation methods for suspended sediment deposition. In this paper, a method of measuring the deposition of suspended sediment by removable glass plates, with dryer, precision balance and other instruments is proposed. Then the method is used to observe the effects of vegetation patches on suspended sediment deposition and distribution. It is found that there will be a suspended sediment zone at the end of the vegetation community, followed by a region with reduced sedimentation. Thus, it is concluded that this phenomenon is closely related to the influence of the Carmen vortex street at the end of the vegetation community. The observation method realizes effective and accurate collection of the suspended load deposition amount during the water and sediment circulation in the flume and can provide reference for the observation methods of pollutants deposition research and other relative aspects.
