The Design of Experimental Platform for Deep Water S-lay Pipeline Installation

  • To research on the laying technology and the design of key equipment design of deep water S-laying, an experiment platform suitable for deep sea S-laying is designed through studying pipe-laying, similarity analysis and model simplification. This experimental platform is composed of model, control system, data acquisition, and analysis system. It provides a research platform for complex pavement analysis and equipment design for deep water S-laying. This method is advantageous in realizing large-scale model experiment indoor, which could overcome the shrinkage ratio caused by large size span in the case of ultra-deep water. Moreover, by taking the HYSY201 pipe-laying vessel in extreme conditions as an example, we show that this experimental platform is effective and feasible.
