Abstract:
The course of wheeled robot design and practice is a basic practical course for the freshman of automation major at HIT (Shenzhen). It aims to make the students understand the major frontier and to experience the practical process through designing the robot by themselves. In the end, it will stimulate the students’ interest of theoretical study. Considering the lack of experimental skill and basic theory, the experiment contents of the wheeled robot are designed in a layered way, and the students are guided to realize each function of the robot in a step-by-step way. The students are attracted to actively participate in the hardware circuit design, software programming and debugging by methods of independent selection and competition. The experimental design changes the previous method of verifying existing experiments on the basis of existing equipment. The results show that the students can understand the circuit and kinematics and motor control knowledge, and master the debugging method of the system after repeated attempts, even if they have less basic circuit knowledge.
