Design and Implementation of Least Square Method Research-oriented Experiment

  • 摘要: 介绍了最小二乘法原理,以最小二乘法解决回归问题为主线,设计了具体的实现代码和实验方案,直观展示了最小二乘法解决问题的方法、步骤和效果,并引导学生对多个实验进行观察、对比和分析。该实验不仅降低了学生学习难度,帮助学生深入理解机器学习原理、掌握机器学习方法,透过欠拟合、过拟合现象深入领会其本质、成因以及消除策略和方法,同时也提高了学生分析问题、解决问题以及应用最小二乘法解决实际问题的能力。

     

    Abstract: This paper introduces the principle of least square (LSQ) method, designs the source code and detail experimental solution for the propose to address the issue of regression by LSQ, visually shows the methods and steps and effects of addressing issues by LSQ, and inspire students to observe, compare and analyze these results. The experiment makes it easy for students to understand LSQ , helps students to deeply understand machine learning principle, master the machine learning method, and grasp the essence, reasons and elimination strategies of overfitting and underfitting. Furthermore, the experiment enhances students’ ability to analyze and solve the problems, and solve practical problems using LSQ.
