Abstract:
At present, there are common problems in the sustainable development education of mining industry in management majors in universities, such as weak practical teaching content, cases detached from reality, and low student participation, which are difficult to meet the demand for high-quality talent cultivation under the background of the “dual carbon” strategy. In response to the above issues, this article constructs a mining ESG virtual simulation experimental teaching platform based on digital twin technology. It adopts a four layer architecture of “perception modeling optimization evaluation”, integrates historical data of mining operations with typical ESG indicators, and designs multiple experimental modules including carbon quota management, green financing, low-carbon production, and social responsibility communication. The platform drives teaching through job collaboration and real-life cases, and enhances students' comprehensive understanding and practical application abilities of environmental, social, and governance issues through task simulation, data analysis, and strategy evaluation. The teaching practice results show that the platform significantly improves students’ abilities in ESG indicator recognition, decision analysis, and sustainability awareness, and both course satisfaction and knowledge mastery are better than traditional models. At the end of the study, the implementation experience of the platform was summarized, and its prospects for expansion in AI assisted teaching and multi-disciplinary integration were discussed.
