Abstract: The existed problems in fundamental chemistry experimental center of Hebei University of Science and Technology, a local key university, are analyzed and discussed in this paper. These problems include instability of laboratory personnel and unreasonable experimental contents, which limits the development of experimental center and the training of undergraduates. To stabilize laboratory personnel, improve the quality of experimental teaching, motivate the students’ enthusiasm on experiments, we can enhance the students’ innovation ability, and finally train excellent innovative talents for society. Some measurements, such as reformation of management system, introduction of talents, strengthening of the extra-curricular activities in science and technology, and optimization of the experiment teaching content, have been proposed. This work may provide references for the construction of other local universities.
