A Time-Domain Comparatorfor Successive Approximation Register Analog-to-Digital Converter

  • 摘要: 高精度、高线性度、低功耗的模数转换器是传感器的重要组成部分。相比其他类型的模数转换器,逐次逼近模数转换器(SAR ADC)具有结构简单、面积小、功耗低、易实现可编程、数字化程度高等优点,已经广泛地应用于无线传感网络。该文提出了一种新颖的高速、数字化的时域比较器,能用于单端和差分逐次逼近模数转换器,相比传统的时间域比较器,该文提出的时间域比较器具有精度高和速度快的特点。

     

    Abstract: High precision,high linearity and low power analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are an important part of thein sensor systems.Compared with other types of analog to digital converters,successive approximation register (SAR) ADC has the advantages,for example: simple structure,small size,low power consumption,easy programmable and high degree of digitization,as a result,SAR ADC has been widely used in wireless sensor networks.In this work,a novel high-precision digital time-domain comparator which can be applied to both single-ended and differential SAR ADCs is proposed,this comparator proposed can achieve both high-resolution and high-speed.Compared with the traditional time domain comparator,the proposed time domain comparator has the characteristics of high precision and high speed.
