Abstract: At present, the practical operation, scientific research ability and logical thinking of engineering students in civil engineering, water conservancy and other fields have become an important direction for colleges and universities to educate undergraduate students. On the basis of years of teaching, this paper summarizes the teaching status quo and existing problems of building materials experiments in Chinese universities, and introduces the teaching experience of building materials courses in Japan, the United States, Germany, Canada, Australia, and from the teaching content and teaching methods. From the teaching contents and teaching methods and curriculum assessment in three aspects, put forward suggestions for the teaching reform of building materials curriculum.
