Research and Practice on Multi-module Integrated Engineering Training Teaching Mode

Abstract
To meet the new requirements of Emerging Engineering Education construction and Outstanding Engineer training for practical and innovative competencies of engineering talents, this paper develops a three-stage, six-dimension and dual-cycle multi-module integrated engineering training teaching mode after analyzing prevailing drawbacks of conventional engineering training, including disjointed teaching modules, unbalanced competency cultivation, rigid assessment system and inadequate industry-education integration. With Stirling generators as the practical carrier, the mode follows a progressive training route of foundational training, comprehensive collaboration and innovation-driven development, covering integrated dimensions such as interdisciplinary collaboration and digital intelligence. Teaching practice is implemented via the internal cycle of ‘teaching-learning-assessment-improvement’ and the external cycle of ‘university-enterprise-research-competition’. Practical results verify that the proposed mode significantly improves students’ capabilities to solve complex engineering problems and their innovative research capabilities, while also promoting teachers’ teaching and research competencies. It facilitates a shift from mere skill transmission to holistic ecological education, which provides a replicable and promotable practical approach for the reform of engineering training under the Emerging Engineering Education initiative.
