Abstract:
To reduce the experiment cost, a virtual experiment system for battery charging, discharging and equalization is designed using the MATLAB/Simulink software. Consisting of simulation models that are comprised of the GUI (Graphical User Interface) and Simulink/Simscape components, the system has numerous simulation modes, such as charging, discharging and equalization. Simulation analysis can be conducted by choosing designated model through the pop-up menu, and the simulation results are displayed in the form of curves. The GUI is easy to operate, so that students may be familiar with the charging and discharging characteristics of batteries. The Simulink simulation model provides students with examples of balanced design and algorithm learning, which is conducive to improving their integrated design ability of the battery management system. Two experimental projects of battery charging and discharging virtual simulation experiment and battery equalization virtual simulation experiment designed based on this system can improve students' understanding of the characteristics and equalization methods of the battery.
