Abstract: Engineering training is an important practice in engineering colleges and universities. In recent years, although colleges and universities have gradually attached importance to practical knowledge learning and practical ability training, there is still a long distance from the social needs and the expectations of enterprises. By briefing the causes of the development of emerging engineering education in China, and combining with the current situation of engineering training of marine technology specialty in Dalian University of Technology, this paper expounds on the existing problems of the engineering training and explores the new teaching model of engineering training for marine technology specialty. The new model combines science and practicability, which enables students to complete the whole process from product development to manufacturing independently, and finally realizes the practical teaching reform of “campus factory”. Therefore, the basic requirements of China’s engineering education reform can be met.
