Abstract:
PID control technology, the core algorithm in the automatic control courses, gives a suitable controlled quantity to keep the controlled object working in the defined scope and automatically restrain the external disturbance according to the system deviation. However, the existing automatic control courses lack a feasible teaching case for PID control technology, instead primarily using MATLAB simulation. The paper uses the Mindstorms NXT kit as an example to build an experiment platform, describe PID control design and its parameter tuning methods, and provide a feasible teaching example of PID control technology in automatic control courses.
