Abstract: Veterinary Surgery and Operative Surgery is one of the core courses for students majoring in veterinary medicine. It plays an important role in training students’ practical ability and innovative ability. Relying on the disciplinary advantage, the College of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine of Shandong Agricultural University established a virtual simulation experiment project of cataract phacoemulsification in dogs and cats, and applied and promoted the project in experiment teaching, which enriched the experimental teaching content and methods, and set up a sharing platform of educational resources centering on students’ independent learning. The development and application of the project boosted the discipline and laboratory construction to a new high and ensured the quality of experimental teaching.
