Abstract:
Aiming at the limits in the traditional practical teaching, in this paper, a new teaching method is proposed combining with digital rock physics and numerical simulation to assist practical teaching in the geotechnical related courses. Combination with the digital rock physics and numerical simulation, the microscopic component-structure property, the seepage, and deformation-failure phenomena of the geomaterials (e.g. rock and soil) can be visualized and quantitatively characterized. The proposed method can concretize the abstract concepts and stimulate students’ innovation consciousness and interest, and then effectively improve the teaching quality.
