Abstract:
In response to the requirements of the “new engineering” discipline construction for the cultivation of college students’ practical abilities, a teaching experiment on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) synchronization algorithm in an IEEE 802.11a receiver is proposed for the communication principle experimental teaching. The principles of the frame synchronization, symbol synchronization, and frequency synchronization are presented. Both of the program design of the synchronization unit, and the configuration of the software defined radio module PLUTO are implemented by using Matlab development environment. Thus, the passband signal can be emitted and received through the PLUTO, and the functions of the synchronization unit can be verified. Through this experiment, students can better grasp the theoretical knowledge of synchronization related to communication principle and improve their engineering practical abilities.
