虚拟现实技术在生物学野外实习中的应用

Exploration and Implementation of Virtual Reality Technology in Biological Field Practice

  • 摘要: 生物学野外实习是生物学科重要实践教育环节,传统高校生物学野外实习教学存在资深带队教师数量不足、教学方法单一、实习地环境破坏和实习安全等问题,而虚拟现实(VR)技术为解决这些问题提供了契机。文章介绍了VR技术在高等教育中的应用现状;并提出了生物学野外实习虚拟仿真教学资源的建设方法,通过融合VR、unity3D、全景视频、三维数字重建、数字高程模型构建等技术,建成具有仿真度、互动性和情境性的野外实习环境。以华中师范大学VR教学实践为例,分析了基于VR的生物学野外实践教学应用效果。调研结果显示,基于VR的教学实践能够突破传统教学中的时空限制,激发学生学习兴趣,丰富教学形式,并有助于提升教学效果。

     

    Abstract: Biological field practice is an important practical education module in the biology discipline. Traditional biology practice in colleges and universities have problems such as insufficient number of experienced teachers, single teaching methods, environmental damage to the field practice sites, and safety risks. Virtual reality (VR) technology provides an opportunity to solve these problems. The article introduces the current application of VR technology in higher education; and proposes the construction method of virtual simulation teaching resources for biology field practice, by integrating VR, Unity3D, panoramic video, three-dimensional digital reconstruction, and digital elevation model construction, a realistic and interactive field practice environment is built with immersive experience. Taking the VR teaching practice at Central China Normal University as an example, the article analyzes the application effect of VR-based biology field practice teaching. The survey results show that VR-based teaching practice can break through the spatial and temporal limitations of traditional teaching, stimulate students' learning interest, enrich teaching forms, and help improve teaching effectiveness.
