Abstract:
With the rapid development of education career, the investment of scientific researches in universities has increased year by year, and the number of teaching and scientific research laboratories in universities has grown rapidly. Laboratory safety issues have become a focus and difficult point of university campus management. In order to deeply explore the overall patterns and internal causes of safety accidents in university laboratories, herein we retrospectively analyzed 42 laboratory safety accidents that occurred between 2015 and 2024. The unsafe aspects and underlying causes of safety accidents were analyzed based on the 2-4 model from the accident cause theory. Based on the current situation of laboratory safety efforts, it is proposed to improve the level of laboratory safety management from four perspectives, including dangerous source identification, grid-based responsibility management and safety education and training, digital and intelligent empowerment for full-process supervision, cultivation of safety cultures. These suggestions could provide insights and references for managing laboratory safety in universities.
