Comprehensive Experiment on Preparation and Biological Properties of Single Element Sulfur Quantum Dots

  • 摘要: 结合材料、化学和生命科学的研究热点,设计了单元素硫量子点的制备、表征及生物性能研究的综合实验。采用自上而下的方法获得聚乙二醇修饰的硫量子点 (PEG-SQDs)。通过多种表征手段对其形貌、元素、官能团、粒径、电位及荧光性质进行综合表征分析,并研究了PEG-SQDs的生物相容性、荧光成像能力和入胞行为。该实验包含量子点的制备、表征分析、生物性能探究等多个步骤,涉及材料、化学、生命科学的基础知识,不仅能拓展学生的知识面,且有利于培养学生的综合实践能力和分析解决问题的能力。

     

    Abstract: Combined with the research hotspot of material, chemistry and life science, a comprehensive experiment on the preparation, characterization and biological properties of single element sulfur quantum dots was designed. Polyethylene glycol modified sulfur quantum dots (PEG-SQDs) were obtained by the top-down method. The morphology, elements, functional groups, particle size, potential and fluorescence properties of PEG-SQDs were comprehensively characterized and analyzed by various characterization methods. Meanwhile, the biocompatibility, fluorescence imaging ability and cell entry behavior of PEG-SQDs were also studied. This experiment includes several steps such as the preparation, characterization and biological property analysis of quantum dots, involving the basic knowledge of materials, chemistry and life science. It not only expands students’ scope of knowledge, but also helps to cultivate students’ comprehensive practical ability and problem-analyzing and solving ability.
